Gaz Brown, Director and Founder of GetRunning Ltd, first came into personal training in the UK back in 2005. On Gaz’s return to New Zealand in 2006 he continued personal training at Les Mills in Auckland and also completed various courses in advanced bio-mechanics and run coaching. He now runs a coaching, group training and Marathon tour business specialising in taking runners up to their first half and full marathons and tour guiding runners through some of the most prized marathons in the world.
He specializes in run specific bio-mechanics/ injury prevention and advising clients on the proper steps to take with strengthening the body using a global approach when approaching their half or full marathon. Gaz has been successful in introducing many people into running including taking Kerre Woodham to the Auckland, New York and Paris Marathon and Co-writing the book Fat Chick to Marathon Runner, followed by Short Fat Chick in Paris with Kerre, with both books selling over 20,000 copies.
Gaz's passion for running has produced a community of runners who enjoy sharing the running experience with other like minded people and want to take the correct steps in introducing themselves to this great sport.
Gaz inspires people in approaching running safely and advising on the steps to take when it comes to run specific strengthening/injury prevention, bio-mechanics and run program structure, and successfully taking hundreds of runners up to their first half and full marathons.
